Interview for Parkinsons Recovery on BlogTalkRadio

(December, 2009)

I recently had the opportunity to do an interview for an internet radio show called Parkinsons Recovery, with a wonderful and enthusiastic doctor named Robert Rodgers, whose website, www.parkinsonsrecovery.com is dedicated to educating people with Parkinsons about alternative treatments and therapies. I was approached by Dr. Rodgers to discuss my CSI program, and how belief systems affect health and well-being. It was a high energy, passionate discussion… and we’re already planning a follow up! Check out the first interview when it airs December 24 at 11:00am, or you can download the show anytime after that here.

Interview with Lisa McSherry of "Facing North"

(May, 2009)

Facing North is a wonderful website with one of the largest collections of articles and reviews of neopagan/Spiritual/New Age oriented books, music, and other items of interest to the spiritual community. Lisa McSherry is a delightful woman who has written wonderful reviews of both my books, and she contacted me a couple of months ago to do an interview for the site. Great questions, and tons of fun to answer… Check it out here.

Simple Wicca

(Conari Press, 2000; Paperback, revised edition, Red Wheel/Weiser, 2008)

"You hold a powerful book in your hands. It serves as a welcoming portal to a magical, living, vital world filled with joy, fun, romance, and power. Michele Morgan has written a love song to the moon and a celebration of Earth's powers, honoring the witches of the past while shining a light on modern Wicca."
— Judika Illes, author of Pure Magic, The Element Encyclopeida of 5000 Spells and The Element Encyclopedia of Witchcraft.

Wicca is a beautiful, complex religion, based on ancient spiritual practices that honor the Earth, nature, and the balance of both male and female energies. Wicca has been misrepresented, misunderstood, and much maligned for centuries, forcing practitioners underground to protect its magical secrets.

We live in a time when many people are seeking alternative spiritual paths—ways to connect to Spirit, the Earth, and their fellow beings with consciousness. Wicca speaks to the soul, and to the instinct, of ancient and remarkable things; of honor and empowerment; of mystery, and wonder; of the Earth, and the Universe, and the elemental yearning in the heart of every human for a true and intimate union with the divine.

Simple Wicca takes the reader through the essentials of Witchcraft, from the philosophy and history of the Craft, to the elements of celebration, magic, and ritual practice. Written from an experiential perspective, Simple Wicca is an emotional journey into a sacred and profoundly spiritual faith.

“A lyrical, joyous, magickal glimpse into the heart of a spiritual path that has an ancient soul yet is forever young. Simple Wicca tells us what it feels like to reach out and touch the hands of the old gods of nature; what it is to know wonder again. A warning: If you read it, you will find yourself yearning to stand in a moonlit circle with the author, just to taste the magick she feels and describes so vividly.”
— Amber K, Priestess of Wicca, former President of the Covenant of the Goddess, author of True Magick and Covencraft

“One of the most refreshing views of the Wicca/Witchcraft scene to come across our desk. The Beltane Papers recommends it without reservation.”
— Marione Thompson-Helland, editor of the The Beltane Papers

A Magical Course in Tarot: Reading the Cards in a Whole New Way

(Conari Press)

Michele Morgan invites you on a journey to discover and explore the ancient art of Tarot. Enhanced by seventy-eight original illustrations, this inspiring and easy-to-use guide will teach you how to tap into your intuition and unlock the Tarot’s timeless wisdom. Morgan’s method, which can be applied to any Tarot deck, rises above the rules of structure and the constraints of tradition, freeing you to begin reading the cards right away with a profoundly fresh perspective.

“In A Magical Course in Tarot, Michele Morgan’s poetic language adds magic to every page. This book leaves ample room for wonder, imagination, and instinct… three vital ingredients if one is to become a vessel for Spirit, rather than a “rote reader” of the cards.”
— Nancy Brady Cunningham, co-author of Tarot Celebrations

“I read A Magical Course in Tarot in hopes of actually learning to read tarot cards. Michele Morgan delivered exactly what I was looking for in a funny, engaging, and supportive style. This is a how-to book without how-to rules, presented in a conversational, no-nonsense manner. Michele Morgan sounds like someone I’d like to know. I have been told that she holds frequent workshops that are a real kick. I highly recommend seeking out this book and its author.”
— Liz Bardon, The New Times

"I have been reading tarot cards for more than a decade now, and for the last five have taught others to do the same. Most people have several decks, read a bunch of books, memorize tons of definitions, and follow all the rules, but still end up being confused about how the cards relate to each other in a spread.  Usually, they are trying to make "official" definitions of the cards fit an "official" spread and it just isn’t ‘clicking’ for them. Michele Morgan has written a book that breaks all the rules of tarot, and does so in a funny, engaging, and supportive style.  She presents tarot reading as a storytelling process and teaches readers to use their intuition to interpret the story presented by the cards. In truth, she encourages readers to use intuition for everything: how to choose a deck, how to shuffle the cards, how many to draw, and even how to lay them on the table.  Since no tarot book can be published without them, card definitions are included. This section is in the middle of the book, but I saved it for the end because I was having so much fun and making so much progress without them. They are very well written and not at all didactic, and the illustrations are wonderfully unique. Some use traditional tarot imagery, and others are more interpretive. Throughout, it is obvious how much the author loves working with tarot. She speaks of tarot cards lovingly, lingering over descriptions of her favorites and joyfully sharing her list of favorite decks. However, Morgan makes it clear that tarot is just a tool for accessing your own intuition. She makes her point by using a brilliant telephone analogy: "When you call someone on the telephone, I hope you don’t convince yourself that the phone is the one speaking to you."
